Download Xu

The website, documentation, and SDK use the same release: Xu 0.8.8. The 0.8.x series includes slash module paths, verified dependency locks/vendor, offline/frozen builds, SemVer MVS, proxy/private-module policy, and trusted-key checksum-log verification. The packages module 0.1.1 provides 29 external packages. Public Xu proxy/checksum services remain pending. Download only versions with actual release assets; source version updates do not imply a published installer.

Compiler release files are distributed through GitHub Releases. Choose a published version and the matching platform asset. Development candidate downloads become available after release packaging.

WebAssembly Support: The xu compiler on any platform natively includes a WebAssembly backend. Run xu build --target wasm32 app.xu to directly emit standard .wasm modules for modern browsers and WASI sandboxes.

Installation & Usage

We recommend using native Setup installer packages for automated global environment configuration:

Windows: Download xu-setup-windows-x64.exe (or xu-v0.8.8-windows-x64-setup.exe) and double-click to launch the native GUI wizard (no PowerShell ExecutionPolicy restrictions, automatically configures user registry PATH and XU_ROOT).
macOS: Download xu-v0.8.8-macos-arm64.pkg for standard GUI installation, or standalone xu-setup-macos-arm64 (run ./xu-setup-macos-arm64 -y).
Linux: Download xu-setup-linux-x64 (or arm64), run chmod +x xu-setup-linux-x64 && ./xu-setup-linux-x64 -y for zero-dependency automated installation and Shell PATH configuration.

Open a new terminal window after installation to verify:

xu --version
xu build hello.xu --output hello
./hello
